YUM!

This morning we had tons of fun rolling out our very own gingerbread cookies with Mrs. Anderson!  Thanks to Mrs. Kaczmarek for sending in the yummy dough for us to use!!  Miss Heidi baked them in the kitchen for us during lunch and we enjoyed taste testing them this afternoon AFTER our popcorn snack!  Wow!  We had big day filled with yummy food!
When we ate our cookie, we needed to decide whether we would eat its foot, head or arm first!  We then tore that part off of our paper cookie to display on our class graph!
Check out our graph...

Holiday Card Exchange 2012

Our class is participating in a Holiday Card Exchange around the world!!  In the next two weeks we will be sending and receiving holiday cards from 30 different classrooms around the world!  The theme for the card exchange was "snow globes" and we had LOTS of fun making our snow globes this morning to send to the other classrooms!

We have received three cards so far!  We were thrilled to learn that the first three states to send us cards were Pennsylvania, Texas and Indiana!  We will make sure to put them all next to our map to keep track of where they are all coming from!  How exciting!!

Literacy Work Stations!!

Yesterday we started our first set of Literacy Work Stations!  Wow!  We had a great time!!  During this set of stations we are collaborating with our partner to listen to a story and choose our favorite characters, act out a variety of big books and stories, use expression fluency while reading familiar poems, building star words, writing words from around our classroom, playing a variety of games to practice taking  turns and having a great time, using creative expression to make a very special gift, independently use the Macbooks and SMARTBoard to engage in a variety of literacy games and practice beginning sounds with a special toy book!  Please ask your child which two stations he or she has visited so far!!
